Ballard Row Houses

Ballard Row Houses

Project Concept / Create an inspired urban infill project using the row-house building typology. Utilize the natural slope of the site to step each unit down; strengthening the personal identity of each unit and creating a more 3-dimensional building envelop. Each unit is composed of a primary rectangular tower and secondary projecting elements, which gives the overall composition a dynamically modulated organic form. All entries are clearly articulated with entry stoops, facade projections, vertical glass windows and roof elements. The West elevation strikes a balance between openness to the street -vs- individual privacy. The primary siding material is cedar.
